Week 2 of Walking On Country – Morialta Conservation Park

EVENT INFORMATION
This walk is approximately 5 km and up to 1 hour and 30 mins in duration.
It is rated as a moderate hike and is suit­able for most ages and fit­ness lev­els. Tracks may have short steep hill sec­tions, a rough sur­face and many steps. We will stop midway for a yarn.
 
This event is for women only and allows us to connect with one another and country while improving their fitness and wellbeing.
 
MEET TIME/LOCATION
Please arrive at 8:45am  for a 9:00AM Start.
Toilets are available at the start point.
 
Meeting point will be provided before the day of the hike.
 
MEDICAL FORMS
Don’t forget to complete and  print off your Medical form – download  from here –  HSF Medical Form and Terms and Conditions.
You cannot participate without having completed the form.
 
WEATHER AND GEAR

If the weather forecast is for extreme weather or a fire ban is issue for the Adelaide Hills, this walk will be cancelled the day before and you will be notified.
We will only cancel last minute (by text message and email) if there is a severe weather warning/thunderstorm warning or weather events that are likely to impact on the safety of our leaders and walkers.
 
Due to the variability of the weather, the following items will be needed:
– a daypack (25-35 litre) backpack
– 1-2 litres of water
– sun protection (hat, sunnies, suncream) or wet weather gear (check the forecast and plan accordingly!)
– blister kit/personal medication
– high energy snacks/fruit
– boots/comfortable walking shoes
– layerable clothing for before/during/after the walk (eg. jumper/jacket)
 
Please ensure you have the minimum gear required as. If you arrive underprepared without wet weather clothing or the gear listed above, our Leaders have the right to ask you not to walk with us for safety reasons.
Note: Your leader carries a group first aid kit, emergency communication devices.
 
IF YOU CANNOT ATTEND
If you are no longer able to attend the walk, please reply by email contact@healthyselffitness.com.au IF BEFORE 5PM the day before the walk or text 0406 779 159.
On the night before, a leader will contact you with the mobile number for last minute cancellation or directions on the day only.
 
OTHER INFORMATION
These walks are about connecting with country and other mob and improving your overall health and fitness. We will go as fast as the slowest person and no one is left behind. 
Minimum age requirement for our walks is 15 years old (as long they are accompanied by a supervising adult). Please check with us if unsure.
